Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Our Commitment to You
We want you to be completely satisfied with Elysium. This Refund Policy explains our refund and cancellation terms for subscriptions purchased through our website (via Stripe) and through Apple's App Store.
2. Free Tier
Elysium is free to use with all core features included. Paid subscriptions are only for cloud sync and collaboration features. You can use Elysium indefinitely without paying.
3. Paid Subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions purchased through our website do not qualify for refunds. However, you can cancel at any time, and you will retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
4. Apple App Store Purchases
For subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store (in-app purchases on iOS or macOS):
- Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple
- We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases
- Apple's refund policies and timeframes apply
- Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple
How to Request an Apple Refund:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find the Elysium subscription purchase
- Select "Report a Problem"
- Choose "Request a refund"
- Explain why you'd like a refund
Apple typically processes refund requests within 48 hours. For more information, visit Apple's support page.
5. Cancellation Policy
5.1 How to Cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time:
For Web/Stripe Subscriptions:
- Log into your account on elysium.is
- Go to Settings → Subscription
- Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Confirm cancellation
Or email us at support@elysium.is with "Cancel Subscription" in the subject line.
For Apple App Store Subscriptions:
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Tap your name → Subscriptions
- Find Elysium and tap it
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
Or on Mac: App Store → Account (sidebar) → Manage → Find Elysium → Edit → Cancel Subscription
5.2 What Happens After Cancellation
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
- You will continue to have access to premium features until that date
- No further charges will be made
- Your data will be preserved (you can export it at any time)
- You will be downgraded to the Free tier after the billing period ends
- You can resubscribe at any time
6. Downgrade Policy
If you downgrade from Pro to Basic or from Basic to Free:
- The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- You keep all existing data (goals, tasks, etc.)
- You cannot create new premium-tier features after downgrade
- No refunds are provided for the difference in tier pricing
Example:
If you are a Pro user with 10 Odysseys and downgrade to Basic, you will keep all 10 Odysseys but cannot create new ones beyond the Basic limit (1 free Odyssey). To create more, you would need to upgrade back to Pro.
7. Billing Disputes
If you notice an incorrect charge or billing issue:
- Contact us immediately at support@elysium.is
- Include your order number and details of the issue
- We will investigate within 2-3 business days
- If the charge was made in error, we will issue a full refund
8. Failed Payments
If a subscription payment fails:
- We will attempt to charge your payment method up to 3 times over 10 days
- You will receive email notifications about failed payments
- Update your payment information in your account settings
- If all attempts fail, your subscription will be cancelled and you'll be downgraded to Free
- You can reactivate your subscription at any time by updating payment info
9. Promotional Discounts and Coupons
If you used a promotional discount or coupon code:
- Refunds are calculated based on the discounted price you actually paid
- You cannot combine refunds with promotional credits
- Promotional codes are non-transferable and have no cash value
10. Auto-Renewal
All subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled:
- Monthly subscriptions renew every month on your billing date
- Annual subscriptions renew every year on your billing anniversary
- You will be charged at the then-current rate (we will notify you of price changes 30 days in advance)
- Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid being charged
11. Exceptions to Refund Policy
Refunds may be denied in the following cases:
- Violation of our Terms of Service
- Abuse of the refund policy (multiple refund requests)
- Subscription purchased through Apple (must go through Apple)
- Account has been terminated for misconduct
12. Data Retention After Cancellation
When you cancel your subscription:
- Your data is retained and accessible (read-only for premium features)
- You can export your data at any time
- To permanently delete your account and all data, contact support
- Deleted data cannot be recovered

14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
